1. Our approach
Cookies and similar technologies include browser cookies, local storage, pixels and advertising identifiers. Necessary technologies operate the service or remember a choice you request. Optional analytics and advertising technologies remain off unless you select “Allow analytics & advertising”. Merely continuing to browse is not consent.
2. Necessary storage
- autotoolsuk_city — remembers your selected city for up to 12 months.
- autotoolsuk_vehicle_profile (local storage) — remembers the vehicle details you enter on that browser until you replace or clear them.
- autotoolsuk_cookie_consent — records “necessary only” or “all” for up to six months so we can respect your choice.
- Authentication and security storage — Clerk and our infrastructure may use short-lived or session technologies to secure protected administration, verification and private workflows.
Blocking necessary storage may stop saved preferences, private access or security features working correctly.
3. Optional analytics and advertising
When these tools are introduced, consent may allow us to measure visits and quote-request conversions, understand campaign performance, limit repeated ads and build advertising audiences. Providers may include Google/YouTube, Meta/Facebook/Instagram and TikTok. These providers may combine events with information they already hold under their own notices.
Consent is not a condition of using the calculators, directory or quote-request service. We will not load optional pixels merely because an advertising link was clicked.
5. Browser and provider controls
Browsers can block or delete storage, and advertising providers offer their own account-level ad controls. Browser settings do not always replace the consent choice required on this site, and clearing storage may cause the banner to reappear.
