How to compare performance brake upgrades
A brake upgrade should suit tyres, vehicle weight and intended use. Compare the complete system, cold performance, noise, maintenance and any wheel-clearance requirements.
- Describe road, towing or track use
- Confirm wheel and component compatibility
- Compare the complete kit, fluid and bedding procedure
- Discuss insurance and maintenance implications
Do larger brakes always shorten stopping distance?
Not by themselves. Tyres, temperature, road conditions and system balance matter; larger systems may mainly improve heat capacity and repeatability.
